About Future Concepts
Future Concepts is a Contemporary Floral Design Group affiliated to the North Midlands Area of the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies. This covers most of Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire, the whole of Nottinghamshire and eastern Staffordshire.
The Group formed in 1998, and currently has 66 members and a waiting list of over 30. Those on the waiting list are kept informed of the group's activities, and included whenever possible.
We meet at weekends approximately five to six times a year, for workshops, demonstrations, talks, etc., and our members are also actively involved in many Area events, festivals and competitions. Many of our Demonstrators and Tutors are from overseas.
Our meetings are held mainly at Oxton Village Hall, this being a very central venue for the Area, with good facilities and easy parking.
Our members are all floral artists, well versed in the principles and elements of design. We encourage and promote imaginative and creative ideas using natural plant material, often drawing ideas and inspiration from other art forms.
